Prayer for Students: Prayer for Confidence

Lord Jesus Christ, as I pray this prayer for students especially in this prayer for confidence, help me to be reminded of your truths as I speak them over my life now. This prayer for confidence is important because it will help safeguard me from the lies of the enemy and those vessels of the enemy who come against me.

There are times when I look in the mirror and I don’t like what I see. It may be what I see in the physical and the spiritual. Bring this scripture to mind when I doubt how You made me, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:14). You don’t make mistakes and regardless of what people have told me, You made me exactly how You wanted me to be.

I am wanted. I am wanted by You.

This prayer for confidence will help ground me to your truth so I can battle the storms of life. The storms may come against me and sometimes it might be because of my own choices. When I look into the mirror, I don’t recognize who I see. It will be challenging to be confident if I am like this. I pray over myself now so I can begin the journey in becoming more confident in You.

Lord Jesus Christ, I have to be honest there may be a person I don’t know and not really sure how they got here, but I know I’ve made mistakes. It’s usually in these moments where I don’t have confidence because I don’t like who I am.

I choose now to repent of my sins and I will rest in this truth, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus” (Acts 3:19-20).

Praying this prayer for students is so important because we go through a lot and during this time we don’t know who we are. Lord Jesus Christ, give me wisdom beyond my years and help me to see what You see and what You have for me.

I feel so far from You, and when I do help me remember this scripture, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:17-19).

Lord Jesus Christ, show me where I need to do the good work in healing and restoring those places in me that feel broken. As I heal, show me the progress I have made especially when all I see is all the work I still have to do. I pray this prayer for confidence so I can continue to move forward strengthened from my core in You. Remind me of this truth when I need it, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Gal. 6:9)

Lord Jesus Christ, help me hear Your voice above all and turn to this prayer for students when I need it. With everyone around me telling me how I should act, dress, and talk it can be difficult hearing You through all this noise.

I’m tired of living this life not being able to walk around confident. I want to be able to look at myself again and feel confident about who You are forming me to be. I don’t want to miss out on Your promises and purpose for my life. There are still promises for me.

“Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” (Heb. 10:35-36)

Lord, as I turn to You and pray this prayer for confidence over myself, protect me from falling backwards. Help me to push through the uncertain times and rest in Your peace especially when I don’t have all the answers.

Help me to remember those times where You have rescued me before and know You can do it again. I thank You Lord for second chances and the ability to talk to You again. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16)

I pray all these things in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen!
